Weekend Getaway

We headed "down south" for a getaway this weekend. Some good friends, old neighbors and fellow TU alum moved to Louisville last summer so we spent Saturday with them. Before we went to their house, we took a tour at the Louisville Slugger Factory & Museum.

Cole was amazed with the baseball mannequins! They looked so real, he kept touching them to see what would happen!

After a bit of chasing, I caught 5 of the seven kids (hiding in the shower) at the Michel's house before we headed out on Sunday morning.

On Sunday we met our good family friends at Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN. They have 3 girls who our boys absolutely adore. . .as you can tell--Cole is all about holding hands with Abby, going on rides and eating next to her!

Luke had his share of hanging out with Abby too. It is amazing how well our kids get along. . .2 solid days together and not one fight! I love it :)

As we were ready to head home with tired kids in tow, Terry and I looked up and saw Grant holding hands with Michael. Terry said, "I can't even get that kid to hold my hand and now he is holding Michael's?" We were cracking up because this is not in Grant's personality!

Jesus and God on a Cloud

On Tuesday night Cole was again having issues with "monster shadows" in his room. At one point I reminded him that he could talk to Jesus anytime he wanted to. He said, "But mommy, Jesus doesn't live in my heart." Of course this is a perfect opportunity to talk about Jesus coming to earth, etc. And Cole said he wanted to ask Jesus into his heart. After he did this he said, "Can we pray again so that I can ask God into my heart too?" When he was all done he was beaming from ear to ear and said, "Jesus and God are sitting on a great big cloud in my blood!"

Berries for Breakfast

Last night Cole decided there were "monster shadows" in his room. He got up numerous times between 4:15 and 5:45. After he finally stayed in bed, I hit the pillow hard! Luke came in my room at 7 am and said, "Mom, I can't find my brothers anywhere in the house!" I got up and looked everywhere: the house, the yard, garage, basement, etc. We then realized that their shoes were gone and the patio door had been unlocked. I grabbed my phone and Luke and got in the van.

I started driving through the neighborhood in a panic, called Terry, no answer. Called my dad, and he was on his way over to help look for the boys. Called another neighbor and she jumped in her car to look for the boys. Next I was going to call the police, but I decided I needed to drive back to the park area and look through the trails. As we pulled in the parking lot, Luke spotted the boys coming out of the woods. They saw the van and came running. . .as happy as can be! At that point you think to yourself, "What do i do?" There is a huge sense of relief, but also the thought of how to discipline them. I asked them what they were doing, and they (in other words GRANT--he is the planner!) said they were going to get berries for breakfast.
When we got home I told them both to sit on the couch, we were going to have a talk. On the way to the couch I heard this converstation:
GRANT: "I had a great plan!"
COLE: "It was my plan!"
GRANT: "No, Cole, it was MY plan!"
MOMMY: "Boys, I think that it was a terrible plan."
COLE: "It wasn't my plan!"

Jonah. . .and the whale

This week Traci, one of my dear TU friends, came down to Indy for a visit with her kids for the day. We had a great time playing, etc. That night at dinner I asked the boys if they had fun with Jonah. . .Grant said "YES! And that is the Jonah that when he gets bigger is going to fall in the water and when God is done with him he will get to go to Heaven!" Now that I think of it, Grant was probably wondering if this was the "real Jonah" ever since all the boys sat in the boat at Dick's Sporting Goods that morning!!

Happy B-day Gigi & a "Boys Stuff" Weekend

We headed to Illinois this weekend for Gigi's (Terry's Grandma) 85th birthday. We had some anxious boys on Friday. . no one took naps because they couldn't wait for daddy to get home so we could leave. Part of the fun is getting to watch DVD'ds in the van the WHOLE WAY THERE! A special treat because they are only allowed on trips!

When the party was over on Saturday night, the boys, Terry and Papa went camping. They had stayed up really lated eating smores and telling storeis (afavorite thing to do in our house!)

While the boys were gone, Grammie and I had a "girls nite" and watched a movie. This morning we headed over to the campground. . .here is my favorite shot of the day:
Papa cooked up a yummy breakfast --eggs and sausage.
After breakfast we went over to the Archery Range--Grant LOVED this. It is his new "favorite thing" this summer. A neighbor bought him his own bow and arrow from the DOLLAR SPOT at Target about a month ago and he has gone nuts shooting the arrows. He even wants an archery birthday party. He sure makes it easy on me, doesn't he?? The guy at the range was SO nice. . .he even let all the boy shoot a number of times. Here is Grant using ALL his strength.
The boys also enjoyed a little fishing and Grammie & Papa's lake. Seemed like they caught more seaweed than fish!
It was definitely a quiet ride home. . .Cole even slept the whole way!

The Shoes

After our outing to the Children's Museum this week, I feel the need to do a little "advertising." During our visit I had 3 different moms come up to me to ask about the boy's shoes. Of course each time I was a walking advertisement for Keen. . .
"Oh, I just love them! They are washable, comfortable, great for outdoors, a little bit pricey but definitely well worth it, blah, blah, blah. . .!"I would imagine these women got more than an they asked for. Hmm, should I contact Keen to see if I can join their advertising team?

Hmmmm. . .cont.!

Another bath. . .another bikini???

Hot Summer Days

We headed to the pool with some friends to cool off today. . .all 3 Moritz boys are now swimming pretty confidently in the deep end, so the LOVE to show off their "moves!" Ready to jump?
Luke and Cole like to see who is crazier.
Luke with his buddy Andrew.
Sweet Hollyn enjoyed chewing on her rubber duck most of the day!
Life would be boring without Grant. . .he's enjoying a ride in Hollyn's baby float!

I sent the boys upstairs to get ready for baths. When I went up to check on them, this is what I found.

Christmas in July

It is only July, but I have started working on Christmas card templates for the upcoming season. This is one of the many I have started. Hopefully by August they will all be available for viewing on littlePiggleWiggle and Rhema Photography.
